EPF’s installs 8 different floor systems for hangars, tailoring a system to the customer’s needs and budget: From specialty ESD/Conductive coatings to trowelled ¼”resurfacers, and everything in-between.
EPF’s premium three coat system includes a low-viscosity epoxy primer, a high-build, 100% solids epoxy intermediate coat, and a topcoat consisting of 2-component polyester aliphatic chemical-resistant polyurethane coating.

ABRASION RESISTANCE
EPF’s systems utilize catalyzed, 2-component, polyester aliphatic urethane polyurethane, which offer the highest abrasion resistance possible. These floors requires a coating system that will stand up over a long period of time to heavy traffic loads. EPF utilizes this CRU (chemical resistant urethane) topcoat for these applications because protection and ongoing maintenance are essential.
APPEARANCE/AESTHETICS
EPF’s coatings provide a high-gloss, light-reflecting, easy to clean surface. Our floors will not yellow or dull due to ultraviolet degradation, as do some lesser quality hangar floor coatings. The bright, clean surface allows easy identification of parts or liquids on the floor.

All of EPF’s hangar floor systems incorporate an extremely easy to clean finish, making them look new for years to come.
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
EPF’s polyurethane topcoat resists all fluids commonly used in aircraft maintenance including Skydrol.
Skydrol, a hydraulic fluid used in aircraft, is a hazardous waste, and is detrimental to the environment. Due to the chemical resistance of the polyester aliphatic polyurethane coatings, Skydrol will not damage the coating, contaminate the concrete, or seep into the ground, as in lesser quality aircraft hangar flooring.
SLIP-RESISTANCE
In addition to a standard smooth finish, EPF can provide a textured, non-skid surface for the floor. This is accomplished with the incorporation of an extremely long-wearing aggregate into the polyurethane system, making the surface texture of the floor coarse, and preventing it from becoming slippery when wet.
ESD/ STATIC CONTROL
All systems are available in static dissipative finishes. These systems are installed in full compliance with ANSI/ESD S20.20-2007 & DOD 4145.26M and are grounded, tested, and certified. These systems have an exclusive 5 year warranty.
